New Delhi: AAP on Thursday is referred to as “illegal” suspension of his councils from the EDMC house that was ruled by BJP, alleged that the Mayor of the Civic’s body took such action to prevent them from causing corruption problems.
Overcoming a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Atishi said that the party would approach the court to challenge the suspension of the council members from the EDMC Municipal (EDMC) home.
Edmc Mayor of Shyam Sundar Aggarwal on Wednesday said he suspended 17 members of AAP opposition from home for 15 days when they were “involved in violations” during the process.
However, Manoj Kumar Tyagi, member of the AAP council and opposition leader at EDMC, told PTI that he had information about the suspension of only 15 members of his party’s board.
Tyagi is one of the members of the Council of AAP suspended from the EDMC house.
“Fifteen members of the AAP have been suspended because the BJP in power does not have the courage to face questions about the problem of corruption in the civil body and his failure in preventing the spread of dengue fever in Delhi,” Atishi told reporters to reporters.
“The suspension of the AAP council is illegal.
We will approach the court,” he added.
Hitting Aggarwal, Tyagi accused several BJP Board members made “indecent comments” against members of the AAP female board during the trial of the house but he did not take action against them.
“Some BJP Board members made indecent comments on our female board members who were embarrassing and unfortunate.
We demanded their suspension.
But instead of suspending them, the Mayor suspended the AAP council.
The mayor of the civil body should be neutral,” was charged.
The AAP council member was suspended only because they wanted a discussion about the spread of the case of dengue fever and the steps taken by EDMC for disease prevention in Delhi, he added.
On September 27, Aggarwal had suspended 20 AAP members from the East Civic Delhi Agency for 15 days for allegedly creating a commotion and pampering themselves in violations during the trial of the house, withdrawing sharp reactions from the main opposition party.
“Then we said the suspension was illegal.
Hearing this problem later, the court ordered that the council members were allowed to attend the house trial,” Atishi said, hoping that his party members would relieve from the court.
“Illegal actions” like that were taken against members of the AAP board when the BJP in power wanted to ensure that the problem of corruption and margovernance in the city of Delhi was not raised by anyone, he accused.
“I want to tell BJP that they have to be embarrassing.
Delhi people will not forgive them for corruption and margovernance during their regime,” he said, insisting that people would overthrow BJP from Delhi’s poll next year.
With the closure of the selection of civil bodies next year, the political slugfest between Delhi BJP and AAP has increased in the national capital.
BJP has ruled out the three civil bodies for the past 15 years.
