NEW DELHI: The BJP on Wednesday accused the Delhi authorities of attempting to paralyse the party-led municipal companies from town with means like quitting release of capital, decreasing financial feasibility or closing Covid vaccination centers run independently.
At a joint press conference Delhi BJP leader Adesh Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri along with BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi additionally alleged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) authorities in Delhi was threatening the civic bodies fiscally.

The Delhi government following”colluding with personal healthcare centers” has closed all Covid vaccination centers run from the MCDs, Bidhuri alleged.
“The MCDs were conducting 200 vaccination centers and more than 10 lakh people were educated there.
However, the authorities following colluding with hospitals, closed all of the MCD-run vaccination centers and people are made to cover vaccine in private associations,” he explained.
“Had the Delhi government supplied us with offenses at the time, individuals would have vaccinated at no cost in our MCD-run vaccination centers and might not need to visit hospitals and cover for this ” Bidhuri additional.
The BJP leaders also detained that the AAP of carrying”governmental grudges” from the three civil bodies.
“While in the previous seven years that the funding of the Delhi authorities has risen from Rs 37,450 crore to Rs 69,000 crore, the capital allocated to the MCDs from the Delhi authorities annually declined by Rs 6,828 crore to Rs 6,172 crore.
That is a decrease in Rs 656 crore in a calendar year,” Delhi BJP chief Gupta explained.
However, the alleged drop in fiscal allocations on MCDs, he explained,”Not only that, where sooner according to the next Delhi fund commission, but the Delhi government was providing 16.50 percent share of their taxation on civic bodies.
Now, according to the fifth Delhi fund commission, the MCD’s share was reduced to 12.50 percent just.” This way the AAP authorities was using capital as a way to”torture” that the MCDs because 2015,” Gupta explained.
He even accused the Delhi administration of discriminating against civil company officials.
Even though the Delhi government has been devoting Rs crore as compensation to families of its workers who died because of Covid, it’s playing”politics” about the passing of”corona warriors” of MCDs,” Gupta alleged.
“At 111 MCD workers have lost their lives within the previous one year.
Including physicians, paramedical personnel, educators and other employees.
It’s sad the Arvind Kejriwal authorities has refused to consider them ‘corona warriors’ and have never paid any compensation for them so much,” he explained.
The BJP leaders detained the Kejriwal authorities of not supplying oxygen, personal protective gear kits and other essential Covid-essentials to hospitals run by the municipal companies.
