Chandigarh: Opposing certain MLAS practices drawing more than one retirement, the AAM AADMI Party (AAP) on Tuesday demands’ one MLA, one retirement.
The AAP MLA delegation, led by opposition leader Harp Singh Cheema, handed a memorandum for the Punjab of the Rana Speaker K P Singh.
After meeting with the speaker, Aap Mlaas said that their party opposed more than one monthly pension to MLAs / former MLA, which has become MLA more than once because of such financial benefits is morally wrong.
Therefore, MLA must be given the same retirement as government employees, they said.
Cheema said the taxpayer has an upright right above the country.
He said the Congress government had stopped retiring Punjab government employees on behalf of Reformation in 2004, which was strongly opposed by employees and the retirees.
AAP legislators demand that in the upcoming assembly session, the law must be forwarded with the approval of all MLA to eliminate more than one pension rule and restore the old retirement scheme for government employees.
Delegates include Sandhwan Kultar, RAM Head of Budd, Meet Hayer, Manjit Singh Billaspur, Kulwant Pandori, Jai Singh Rodi and Amarjit Singh Sandoa.
