PANAJI: The AAM AADMI has projected Amit Palangkar as a candidate for the main minister in Goa.
AAP National Convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal officially announced party decisions in Goa on Wednesday.
Palekar, a lawyer – a politician who changed, said his first business order was to end corruption in the state government within 24 hours of AAP forming a government.
He said corruption was rampant in the government department and that a strong message had to come out that it would not be tolerated.
“I will get rid of corruption.
I think that’s what consumes Goa backwards,” Palekar said.
“It will take a day, it will take 24 hours to change it.
Just enter the discipline in its place, place it in the minds of government staff that it will not be tolerated.
Why should it take six months or one year,” he said.
Palekar caught the attention of Kejriwal when he joined a hunger strike demanding the demolition of illegal bungalows built in the old Heritage Goa Unesco zone.
After ending a five-day hunger strike, he was praised by Kejriwal and projected by AAP as a candidate for Santa Cruz for the election of February 14 assembly.
Kejriwal, who flew down on Tuesday, said AAP wanted to improve injustice that Bhandari was faced for the past 60 years.
