Nagpur: About 50% of 12 meters wide and above the streets in the city are in a bad condition and full of holes.
The city has around 113 road tar which is 12 meters wide or higher.
From them, 56 roads in poor condition, according to reports compiled by the Department of Public Works Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
The highest number of bad tar roads is located below the Lakadguard Zone where 11 of the 9 roads are in poor condition and the streets in the Hanuman Nagar area are in the best condition with only one of 11 is a bad shape.
The Hotmix department claims to have patched embroidery in most of the roads in the Lakadganj zone.
In the Gandhibagh zone, there are around 15 roads as wide as 12 meters or higher.
The department has fixed seven but nine roads are still in bad condition.
In the mangalwari zone too eight out of 10 roads are in a bad condition.
Although the department has patched embroidery in almost all stretches but five in the worst conditions and requires complete renovation.
Under Dharampeth Zone, from 27 different stretches, six roads are in the worst condition.
Sources in NMC blame selected representatives for deteriorating road conditions in the city.
“They only concentrate and ensure a freeway in the residential area, while the main highway remains negligent,” said the source.
A senior official from PWD NMC said that the Civic body had taken the job fixing a hole in the basis of war footing.
“In addition, this we have chosen 14 roads that will be fully extended,” he said, while there was a proposal to change the four road tar into cement concretization.
Similarly, the improvement of Nagpur Trust and the State Public Works Department will also update the existing tar road or can turn it into a cement road, the official said.
The code of ethics applied to the selection of MLC also affects the updates of several roads in the city.
The tender invitation process from many roads was stopped because the model behavior model began to apply, recognizing the official.
