New Delhi: The day after the Taliban and the resistance was trapped in a fierce battle in Panjshir Afghanistan, claiming control over the valley, a report about around 600 Taliban killed in the northeastern province of the country, appeared on Sunday.

“About 600 Taliban have been liquidated in various Panjshir districts since morning.
More than 1,000 Taliban have been arrested or surrendered to themselves,” said spokesman for the power of Fahim Dashti’s resistance tweeted, reported Ani.

The Taliban and the opposition power struggled on Saturday to control the Panjshir valley in the north of Kabul, the last Afghan Province who survived against Islamic groups, with both parties claiming to have conclusive evidence.

Ahmad Massoud’s supporters rejected the Taliban increase claim to Panjshir and said no one entered the province, reported Tolo news.
The Taliban, who took power in another country three weeks ago, could have never been able to control the valley when they last ruled Afghanistan, from 1996 to 2001.
Meanwhile, the Taliban attack on Panjshir’s resistance strength had slowed due to the presence of land mines in the area.
A Taliban source said the battle continued in Panjshir but progress was slowed by land mines placed on the road to the capital of Bazak and the provincial governor’s compound, reported Al Jazeera.
