Alwar: ACB on Monday arrested the Chairman of Alwar Nagar Parishad (Alwar Municipal Council) and his son for allegedly accepting a bribe of 80,000 Rs.
Money is required to clear the pending billing bill involved in the auction publicity work on the board.
ASP ACB Bajrang Singh, who led the Jaipur team who had organized the trap said, “One Mohan Lal approached the bureau that he was involved in publicity related to the upcoming auction that would be held at Alwar Nagar Parishad and many of his bills were delayed.” From RS 3.50 Lakh who was sued, he had paid bribes of Rs 1.10,000 and then submitted the other RS 20,000 when verifying complaints.
“When he failed to cough, the remaining bribery, he approached us.
First, we verify complaints and after verification, the trap was placed where the defendant Bina Gupta, Chairperson, and his son Kuldip Gupta, was arrested for accepting bribes of Rs 80,000,” Singh added.
After the arrest, ACB initiated a search at the residence of his chairman and son.
“Active search to get more burdensome evidence and further recovery related to this case,” said a senior officer.
“It was found that the woman used to sign a delayed bill at her residence in Alwar and used to ask people to pay the number of bribes at her house,” Singh added.
The case below the appropriate section of the prevention of the corruption law has been submitted against the defendant.
