JNU JNU has made an entrance exam (Jnuee) since 2019 in various centers of the country to admit students in various courses in collaboration with NTA in test mode the computer-based (CBT).
Tripathi reason there will not be much difference between Cuet and Jnuee.
Therefore, students who appeared for cuet not going to be in the ocean.
Drawing a parallel with jee and gates, he adds “is a well proven system for admission to various courses in IITs, IISC, NITS etc.,” Tripathi said cuet will also follow the same tracks.
“Earlier, students used to apply to universities in their environment and surroundings.
But with signs cuet, even JNU and Du may be within their reach.
Exams will give students the opportunity to dream big,” he added.
JNU faculty on condition of anonymity said cuet concept itself is not new because the idea was first mooted in 2010, and several central universities have agreed to be part of it.
Until last year, 14 central universities are conducting admission under cuet, but from the next academic session, all 45 university centers around the country are expected to use common entrance test score for admission UG and PG.
Exam, he added, with good stature for the students, including the less privileged sections which must fill the application form for a centralized exam that will help save costs and time.
“Since the government already had a reservation for students from the weaker economy (EWS), the same rule can be implemented to Cuet which is a national-level exam.
Admission university-based center will have appropriate rank, saving the hassle of multiple exams.”
The rapid proliferation of coaching centers that tend to get a boost with such competitive exams, university officials claim that it is not in their hands.
