Noida: To curb an accident during bad weather conditions, the Gautam Traffic Police Budh Nagar has launched a drive to attach reflective cassettes on vehicles, barricades and pillars.
Condition of solid fog, DCP (traffic) Ganesh Prasad Saha said, during the winter leads to reducing visibility and making city roads vulnerable to accidents and this initiative is intended to curb accidents.
“We have begun to attach these cassettes to tractors, trucks and other vehicles.
It has been observed that the speeding vehicle often hit the divider near the Flyway Dnd toll road due to poor visibility.
So, reflective tapes are installed on the flying road too,” Saha said.
More than 2,000 people lost their lives in almost 4,600 accidents in the district in the past five years.
A volunteer Traffic Police Nida, Raghavendra Kumar (35), who has received a Sobriquet ‘Helmet Man of India’, advises people to use indicators and place reflective tapes on their vehicles to avoid accidents.
“Two-wheeled riders must wear a helmet and observe all precautions.
It is important for people highlighting areas that do not have the right street lights because of the possibility of accidents in such areas,” he said.
