New Delhi: The permanent parliamentary committee on Information Technology on Tuesday asked Twitter to explain within two days about blocking the account of the Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and the Senior Congress of Shashi Tharoor, the PTI news agency reported the source.
Parlementer panels have called representatives of various social media platforms, including Facebook, on issues relating to the misuse of these sites and the protection of citizen rights.
Twitter was involved in another controverser last week when blocking the account and law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad as well as members of the Parliament of the Shashi Tharoor Congress.
The Union Minister later revealed that his account was blocked for almost an hour for alleged violations of the American copyright law because of his tweet.
The minister links actions by global micro-micro giants for their difficult attitude towards companies on non-compliance with new rules.
The microblogging site has also blocked a temporary Shashi Tharoor Twitter account on June 21.
The chairman of the committee remained on it had notified that his account was locked for a tweet that brought the copyright video from Boneym Song ‘Rasputin’.
However, the Tharoor account is blocked again to post a tweet with copyright video.
Twitter has also received a backlash from Venkiah Naidu’s vice president and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat for deleting the verification of the blue check from their personal account.
