Gurgaon: The Punjab High Court and Haryana on Monday directing a major General Manager of SBI which has emerged before submitting a department’s investigation report on two bank officials who have sought anticipatory assurance in cases related to fraud in which a farmer loses Rs 1.39 Crore.
The court also praised the police investigation, which began in 2019 with FIR submitted at the Sector Police Station 37.
Earlier this month, the alleged puppeteer of fraud – former Praveen Mittal loan agent (48) – was arrested.
Furthermore, the other FIR was submitted for irregularities in the issuance of 500 SIM cards for a period of time to six Mittal colleagues.

In accordance with the order of August 16 HC, the head of General Manager Amitava Chatterjee appeared in front of the court through video conferencing.
He stated that the Bank had a policy in which a person who experienced fraud will be replaced by a deceived amount, but in this case, there are certain “leads / instructions” which show the involvement of complainants or some people known or related to it in crime.
Chatterjee also said the department’s investigation against officials was finished.
Police investigations so far have not found the involvement of complainants or those who are close to him in fraud.
Leela Ram farmers have opened a bank account in 2016 after receiving around Rs 1.6 Crore as compensation from HSVP.
The authority has acquired some of the land for road construction.
Leela Ram hasn’t applied for an ATM card or using NetBanking.
But Mittal allegedly managed to get some ATM cards issued for his account.
The court, meanwhile, directed the police to investigate aspects raised by the Head of General Manager.
The next hearing date is August 25.
