PUDUCHERRY: Achieving state for the Union Puducherry area will be the main goal of the government, Minister of N Rangasamy’s chairman told the legislature on Wednesday.
Ahead of the general discussion about the budget, Rangasamy said he was aware of the difficulties of being the main minister of the Union region without the ‘state status’ during the previous long term.
“I have made a request (state for the puducherry) to the prime minister.
We learned that the center had made a decision in this matter.
If necessary, we will pass the resolution of searching states in the current budget session and send it for the center.
Approval,” said Rangasamy in the note circulating later.
“We will also visit Delhi and urge the center to provide state.
We are sure that Puduchher will get the state,” said Rangasamy.
He remembered that he urged the United States to restore funding patterns under the sponsor scheme centered from 60:40 (center: UT) up to 90:10, which existed before 2016, during the meeting held by Niti Aayog a few days ago.
