New Delhi: The Ministry of Forestry Delhi has written to Harya’s administration, asked him to identify and act against relieved liquor that operates illegally in the environmentally sensitive zone near Asola Bhatti wildlife asylum in neighboring countries.
A Delhi forest official said smugglers dropped small parts of the sacred wall boundary and used a shortcut to provide liquor from Haryana to Delhi on foot or on a motorcycle.
“We have written a letter to the Head of Haryana Wardlife Warden and the Faridabad District Administration, asking them to identify vends of liquor that operate illegally near the environmental sensitive zone and take decisive action,” the official said.
In 2019, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has stated that the area around the Asola Bhatti wildlife boundary in Gurgaon and Faridabad ECO-sensitive zone (ESZ), prohibits activities such as commercial mining, establishing industries, and the formation of the main hydro-electric project , The villages included in the eco-sensitive zone are Lakadpur (Surajkund), Pali, Manggar, Bandhwari, Gala Pahari, Balola, Gothra (Mohtabad), Badkhal, Anechirpur, Mewla Mahrajpur and Anangpur.
“These liquor vends operate on forest land in Haryana.
Illegal construction activities and the sale of liquor are two major problems in the area.
Neighboring countries must take other firm action will continue to affect wildlife in the sanctuary,” said officials said.
Most of the time, smuggling occurred in the early hours, and smugglers carry knives and sickles, other officials said.
Country Liquor is produced in a place adjacent to wildlife asylum in Anangpur Village in Faridabad.
Smuggling brings this alcohol to Sangam Vihar, who does not have his own liquor shop, he said.
“It’s a distance of just three kilometers from one end to the other.
This smuggler breaks the boundary wall and uses this shorter route to avoid the police.
They were arrested on our camera trap,” the official said.
This is a legal and order situation, and unless the action is taken at the source, smuggling of liquor will continue, he added.
Wildlife asylum covering 32.71 Km Square in South Ridge Delhi Bukit Aravalli along the border of Delhi-Haryana is located in South Delhi and the northern part of Faridabad and Gurgaon District in Haryana.
This is part of the North Leopard Wildlife corridor, which widespread from Sariska National Park in Rajasthan to Delhi Ridge.
