Ahmedabad: Active cases in the Ahmedabad district including the city reaching 21,650 on Sunday with an additional 780 cases in 24 hours.
Active cases, however, became stable for the district – over the past two days, the daily disposal rate of Covid patients recovered compared to the new Covid case above 75%.
On January 15, 95% of patients were issued to new cases, the number fell to 76% on Sunday.
For comparison, on January 12, the number is 42%.
On Sunday, Ahmedabad City recorded 3,264 new cases – fourth day in the last five days.
The city also recorded the deaths of two active patients, making it second day in a row from two deaths.
The country in 16 days has recorded the death of 41 covid patients.
In context, 4.5 months from August 15 to December 31 has recorded the same number, showing an increase in a slow but steady mortality rate.
However, the daily death rate is below 1%.
The number of patients in ICU and Ventilators also increased – according to Ahmedabad Hospital data and care home associations (AHNA), of 183 patients received in private hospitals, 20 or 11% were in the ICU bed or ventilator on Sunday.
Throughout Gujarat, 83 patients were in the ventilator.
