Noida: The vehicle lifting gang was broken after Police Noida arrested three people on Wednesday.
The gang was allegedly involved in stealing two-wheeled two wheels in Delhi-NCR for the past few years.
The defendant was arrested from the Gaur City-2 housing complex.
The police recovered 18 vehicles, including two four-wheeled, two states made and several live cartridges from their ownership.
According to the police, the defendant was identified as Ankit, a resident of Hathras, Saurabh from Ghaziabad and Abhishek, a resident of Firozabad.
Harish Chander, DCP (Noida) said that the defendant Nabbed based on information passed by several criminals arrested by police Bibrakh after the meeting a week ago.
“They belong to the same gang and are used to target all types of vehicles.
The gang is active in NCR for several years now.
The modus of their operandi is to use a screwdriver to force start a bicycle,” he said.
“We have recovered two cars, Swift and Santro, nine motorbikes and seven other bikes of them.
They mostly target two-wheeled vehicles, especially explorers such as bullets and sports bikes, and are sold at cheaper prices in Western rural areas,” Police said , He said that the police had traced 10 of the vehicles restored and talked to the owner.
The work is being carried out to track the remaining gang members.
The defendant was ordered under Section 482 (penalty for using a fake property sign), 380 (theft) IPC and the relevant part of the ARM acted.
Ankit was also arrested in the murder case by Kanpur police in 2016.
All the defendants were sent to prisoners Judge after producing it in front of the district court.
