Rajkot: At least 100 activists on Tuesday filed a memorandum to the Department of Administration and Taluka Karu Forest which demanded the release of five lions arrested on August 18.
The forest department has stated that lions are arrested for medical examinations.
Lions are stored at the Jasadhar Animal Care Center.
However, wildlife activists have questioned the intention of the Ministry of Forestry behind the lion.
Activists gathered in the slogan singing office singing and demanded the release of lions directly into the wild.
Hiren Soni, one activist said, “The lion should not be arrested without reason.
We will continue our protest until the department releases it.” Tnn.
