Navi Mumbai: Disturbed to see reduced forests, wetlands and the destruction of wildlife, rescuers and Uran-based activists, Jaywant Thakur (49) has painted various species on canvas to highlight the problem of protection of forest, environment and wildlife.
A talented artist, said Thakur, “Recently, I saw a Koala video trapped in a raging forest fires in Australia; it was scared and shouted anxiously until the rescue occurred.
It was very disturbing to me, and so I decided to paint.
Species Loris which is sleek similar to koala because both are arboreal (living in trees).
Slim Loris species are found in some parts of India and Sri Lanka, and even their habitat is threatened.
