Ludhiana: With green cover in the shrinking city proportionally with urbanization, environmental activists urge authority to plan tree plantation drivers wherever possible.
They suggested that land around the Buddha Nullah beyond the MC limit was handed over to the Ministry of Forestry for the plantation.
To limit the logging of trees, they also suggest so that the land is transferred to the Ministry of Forestry.
The drainage department is expected to plant at least 17,000 trees on both sides of the sewer outside the MC limit but cannot complete demarcation.
The drainage department has blamed the income department because it does not help with demarcation.
Activists have expressed concern over the attitude of the sluggish authority against the city’s green cover.
Col JS Gill, (Retd) an environmental activist and one of the members of the task force for the Buddha Nullah, said, “If one department cannot complete the task, the authorities must receive assistance from other departments but green plants must be present.
Land is available around Buddha Nolah, then why is the plantation not be done there? “He showed that some trees had reduced the name of development.
“Compensation plantations are taking place in other cities, so people have to go there to breathe?” He asked.
Other activists, Kapil Arora said, “The Ministry of Forestry conducts plantations on the land of the irrigation department near the river but the land belongs to the last.
In the event that the Ministry of Forestry is awarded the task of planting trees around the Buddha Nullah, so the land must also be transferred in the name of the Ministry of Forestry.
After This step is taken, the tree planted will not be accessed, otherwise anyone will continue to cut it.
