Chennai: Cybercrime wings from Chennai City Police investigated the controversial Tweet actor Siddharth against Badminton Player Saina Nehwal.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken Suo Motu’s awareness of Siddharth’s tweet.
Chairman Nce Rekha Sharma sent a complaint to the Director General of Police (DGP) C Sylendra Babu attaching Tweet Siddharth.
NCW has searched for police intervention and appropriate actions in accordance with the legal provisions to refrain from making such statements in the future.
The Commission also demanded the earliest action against Siddharth.
However, Cybercrime police are awaiting official complaints by the NCW chairman.
A police officer said, “We will begin legal action against actor Siddharth after discussing him with legal officers.” Siddharth on Tuesday apologized to Saina Nehwal.
“I want to apologize to you because my jokes are rude that I wrote in response to your tweet,” he tweeted.
“You will always be my champion,” he tweeted.
