Thiruvananthapuram: Adani Trivandrum International Airport Limited (Atial) has been officially taken over by Trivandrum International Airport.
The takeover was completed when the head of the airport at Atial Madhusudan Rao was handed over to the charge by the Executive Director of Trivandrum International Airport.
The company will hold a special prayer ceremony at the airport in the next two days, where the Saints of various religions will be present.
It was on January 19, this year that the Indian airport authorities signed a concession agreement with Adani airport which was limited to operations, management and development of international airports here after winning an offer to run the airport for the next 50 years.
In accordance with the agreement, the Indian and Atial Airport Authority will jointly manage operations for the first three years.
Develop airport infrastructure in the land available and bring new flight services to the airport here will be the two main main objectives of Asial after takeover.
The main operation is related to customs, immigration, air traffic management, security, communication and supervision of navigation will continue to be managed by the Indian Airport Authority.
Meanwhile, the appeal submitted by the state government of the privatization of the airport was still delayed under the consideration of the Supreme Court.
