Bengaluru: Wipro added 12,178 employees in the June quarter, which was 80% of what was added in the last financial year and the highest in the past decade.
Wipro headcount crosses 2 lakh in the quarter.
Voluntary friction rose 340 points in sequence up to 15.5%.
“Dramatic shifting into a long-distance work environment has made delivery in all sectors and markets more mobile, and released.
Therefore, higher friction has become a universal problem.
Wipro acknowledged this and adapted quickly,” said CEO Wipro Thierry Delaporte.
President Wipro and Chro Saurabh Govil said the company ensured that supply chain constraints and friction did not hinder growth.
“We plan to employ more than 6,000 people in the September quarter.
We have announced a salary increase for 80% of our employees effective September 1, the second increase in the calendar year after one in January,” he said.
There are two rounds of promotional cycles and the third mature in December.
Govil said 10,000 promotions were given during the June quarter compared to 7,300 in the last year period.
“We will rent 12,000 freshener this year and make 30,000 campus offers for the next financial year.
Around 22,000 people will join next year.” Govil also said the company offered skills-based bonuses to employees and around 10,000 of them had obtained it in the June quarter.
“This forms 10% -20% of their salary.” He said the majority of friction was at a 2-5 years experience.
He said there were some inflationary pressures at the cost of people because of rehiring and recharging talents will come at a higher cost.
“The friction rate will be higher for several quarters,” he added.
