Sindri: Special Investigation Team (Sitting), which was following direction by the Jharkhand High Court, on Friday initiated an investigation into the death of additional district judges Uttam Anand.
ADG (Operation) Sanjay Anand Lathkar, who led Sitting, IG Priya Dubey, diged the Mayor of Patel Kanhaialal and Dhanbad SSP Sanjiv Kumar, along with other senior officials, visited the site where Anand was killed ‘and held reviews to discuss various aspects of the case.
Lakhan Verma, the driver of the Autorickshaw who destroyed the judge from behind while he was jogging near Randhir Verma Chowk – Luxury Area in Dhanbad – on Wednesday morning, and his accomplice Rahul Verma, who was both in police custody, both of which were interrogated by senior police officers.
When Tii asked Adg Lathkar by telephone, he refused to say anything about the statement given by the Auto Driver accused, said it would hamper the investigation.
“We did not take the statement of the automatic driver and his accomplice at a nominal value and did not have significance when the police were conducting detailed investigations about cases from different angles,” Lathkar said.
The police even saw the complaint submitted by the owner of the Autorickshaw, Sugiya Devi, at the Patherdih Police Station where he was accused that his car was stolen on Monday.
However, the locals said that they saw five people took a car to the nearest workshop on Monday.
Lathkar said they were conducting scientific, technical and professional investigations in this case and they tried to resolve investigations as soon as possible.
When asked if something suspicious was found so far, ADG said he did not want to comment on this until the completion of the investigation.
