Bhubaneswar: The day after the gods of the siblings of Puri Jagannath’s temple was fascinated in their gold clothes on Sun Besha’s occasion, they were offered Adhara Pana, sweet drinks, because they remained on their train.
In accordance with tradition, total terracotta jars are nine barrels containing damaged drinks on the train in an effort to offer drinks to the Divine manifestation (Devtas Parswa or Rakhan Raksh) and free upper strength or spirit.
The refreshment was intended only for Rakhyak Raksy who accompanied the gods of siblings to Gundicha temple during Rath Yatra and look after the gods on the train.
“Later, the drink spilled on the train by breaking pots so that the spirit that was not seen also got a divine drink,” said Shyamsundar Mohapatra, a servitor.
Sweet drinks, made of milk, cheese, sugar and spices are stored in a jar that almost touches the lips of the gods.
Virgin Mahasuara Servitor prepares drinks on each train.
“At the time of Adhara Pana’s offer, Bhitarachha, Talachha and Palia Puspalaka held new fabrics in front of the gods.
Collective appane the servitor carries hundreds of water pots from the well (near Singhadwar) and pouring it into a large brass container stored on the train,” the researcher said Bhaskar Mishra.
It was the last stay from the gods on the train in front of Jagannath’s temple.
The gods will be taken in the Sanctum Sanctorum temple on the occasion of Niladri Bije on Friday night.
