Jaipur: Taking knows complaints by Rajasthan University Syndicate Member of Ram Lakhan Meena about non-compliance with the Norm of the University Grant (UGC) commission during the promotion of faculty members, the Commission has issued a warning letter at the University.
On Thursday, a letter was sent to the University of Chancellor who stated that the university had to reply within 15 days informing whether the norm violation had occurred, failing which UGC could resist financial assistance to the university.
According to complaints, universities have provided promotions to faculty members, who have retired between 2012 to 2020, which are contrary to UGC norms.
Meena said the university administration has provided promotions in negligence rules.
“Even though there are objections, university administration gives promotion to retirees between 2012-20.
This is an evil violation of the norms.
UGC has written VC many times before promotion is given.
Now, if the administration will be stopped, the administration will be responsible,” Meena said.
According to estimates, Rajasthan University got more than Rs 40 Crore as a financial assistance from Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (deer) every year.
Narain’s Higher Education Secretary Lal Meena said he was not aware of the letter.
“The letter did not put up in front of me.
I am aware of the previous letter sent by UGC to the University of Rajasthan, even though we have asked the university to follow the stipulated rules and regulations.
If this is not done, we will look into it.
However, I have not received it yet the latest letter, “Meena said.
Toi contacted Rajasthan University Vice-Chancellor Rajeev Jain several times, however, he did not answer.
