New Delhi: Chairperson of Veteran Industrialist and Godrej Adi Godrej will withdraw from the Consumer Godrej Council (GCPL) next month.
After resigning from the council with the effect of September 30, he would remain as Chairman of Emeritus from FMCG Firm, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.
The 79-year-old industrialist passed GCPL sticks to his younger daughter Nisaba Godrej in 2017 after leading the company for 17 years.
He is the chairman and managing director of the RS 11,000 Crore-Group company.
“It has become a privilege of serving Godrej consumer products.
I thank our council for their sustainable guidance; to all members of our team for their desires for Godrej and help build companies that we all can be proud of; and to our customers, business partners , shareholders, investors and communities, for their in-depth partnership for years, “he said.
Adi Godrej also said that the company’s foundation was very strong.
“I am very sure that Nisa and our leadership team will continue to build and create a more sustainable long-term value for all our stakeholders,” he added.
In that statement, Nisaba Godrej thanked him for his vision and guidance that had helped form and change GCPL.
“The values ​​he has taught to us, combined with a disciplinary, produced, and humble approach, will always be the core of our DNA.

Adi Godrej has served at the top of the leaders of several Indian trade and industrial bodies, and associations.
Among other things, he was the Chairman of the Indian Business School Board ago, and was the president of the Indian Industrial Confederation.
He has been a member of the Advisory Council of the Sloan School of Management Dean, Chairman of the Governor of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and Members of the Asian Executive Board Wharton.
He was also a recipient of several awards and recognition, including the leadership of Rajiv Gandhi Award 2002 and the American India Foundation (AIF) at the Philanthropy Award, 2010.
GCPL also made changes in his leadership team after the resignation of the Head of Official and Secretary of V Srinivasan.
“Sameer Shah, Head of Finance and GCPL Investor Relations at this time, will take over as a company’s Chief Financial Officer,” he said.
In May this year, GCPL announced the appointment of the Executive Director of Rival Hul Sudhirati as the President Director and New CEO of the Company.
The appointment will take effect from October 18, 2021.
Then, Nisaba Godrej, who is currently the chairman and managing director, will function as chairman of the company’s executive.
GCPL, part of Godrej group over 124 years old, is building its presence in developing country markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America in three categories – home care, personal care, and hair care.
It ranks among the biggest household insecticides and household care in developing country markets.
