While Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devn and other Bollywood stars decided to release their film on the OTT platform during the Covid Pandemic, a producer who remained firm over his decision to release films in theaters, Aditya Chopra.
At present, Aditya’s production house has several films that line up to release which includes ‘Bunty Aur Babi 2’, ‘Shamshera’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’.
The producer has held the release of these films for more than 18 months and continues to do so.
The source told the leading website that production houses have been approached by several OTT platforms.
But Aditya is clear that the films are intended to be released in theaters.
The next source told the website that after the second wave of pandemic and there was no clear indication of the reopening theater in Maharashtra, OTT Giant Amazon Prime Video made an offer to Chopra to buy 4 films for Rs 400 Crore.
However, the producer gave ‘no’ straight as an answer.
Because Adi was not ready to sell the four films including Magnum Opus ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Shamshera’, the digital platform was ready to attack the deal for two other films – ‘Bunty Aur Babi 2’ and ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’.
However, they got ‘no’ again from the producer.
The next report states that production will soon announce the release date of each film.
