Varanasi: District administration together with the Ministry of Health and School intensifies efforts from Saturday to ensure percent of children’s vaccination between 15 and 18 years in the district at the beginning.
A total of 400 vaccine teams were involved in the district to cover up to a maximum of 15+ children while the Division Division Commissioner Agrawal, Judge Kaushal Raj Sharma, Head of Medical Officer Dr.
Sandeep Chaudhary and other officials also continued to visit vaccination centers and schools to monitor the process.
Friday night 50.8% of children between 15 and 18 years have been given the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
The response of children and their parents is also satisfying on Saturdays and schools have been opened on Sundays for vaccination.
We expect 75% of children in 15+ categories will be borne by Sunday night, said DM.
According to CMO records, the total number of children between 15 and 18 years in this district is 2.57,879.
From them, 1,30,999 was vaccinated until Friday night.
Regarding the problems faced in ensuring 100% vaccination in the category of this age group, DM said that many students living in Hostel, parents of many children were still hesitant.
Some parents mention that their children are not healthy or have received treatment for any disease recently because they cannot get their jab.
Some parents also claim that they have ensured vaccination of their children even though they cannot produce the certificate concerned.
Given all these problems, fresh strategies are completed to include maximum children from this age group in one or two weeks, the DM said added, the first dose coverage in the 185% category has risen up to 98.5%.
The second dose coverage in this district is 60.9% and the target has been set to take this figure up to 98.5% on February 15, he added.
Officials not only seek school assistance, madrasah, training institutions and other organizations but also interesting for influential people in the community to convince families, which have not confirmed vaccination 15+ children.
Special camps are also being arranged in the brick kiln to cover laborers and trade union traders are also mobilized to work together in this drive.
