Adopt the ‘zero tolerance’ policy for crimes against women: assam cm

Guwahati: Officers on charges of police stations across Assam have been directed to adopt the “zero tolerance” policy while dealing with crimes against women.
Minister of Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma, while overcoming the first conference with the responsible officer (OCS) of all police stations on “redefining the police standards in Assam”, directing OC to submit Chargesheets in all rape, murder, murder, arm and drugs smuggle the case earlier for fast trials.

OC must involve themselves in making their own territory crime-free,” he added.
He also directed OC to collect Post Mortem reports quickly while saying that the DIGS range will ensure the collection of post mortem reports as soon as possible.
“The steps must be taken to send samples for testing in forensic laboratories outside the country to minimize delays because the only forensic laboratory in Guwahati is not enough,” he said.
Directing OC to complete all police verification for work, a passport within 7 days, except doubtful cases, cm emphasizes to provide the best service to the public.
He instructed OC to ensure the receipt of reports by the earliest family in the case of the death of a road accident for the bother-free insurance claims.
