Nagpur: Tehsil authorities on Tuesday broke an abysmal olive oil production unit and reserved three people in this relationship.
The cops directed by older PI Jayesh Bhandarkar also seized a enormous amount of adulterated petroleum being promoted by substituting it as a commodity by reputed manufacturers.
During the raid, authorities discovered roughly 28 15-litre tins of impure olive oil, counterfeit stickers and other stuff.
The authorities have reserved three — Prem Gagwani (58, a resident of Badkas Chowk, Mahal),” Shankar Durugkar (47, also a resident of Hiwri Nagar) and Ashok Keswani (a resident of Ambedkar Chowk, Central Avenue) under sections 51, 52 A, 63, 68A of heterosexual Act.
Authorities said Sanjay Tiwaria resident of Rathod Layout, who’s representative of a respected olive oil firm, received complaints concerning uncontrolled sale of jojoba oil beneath his company’s name.
A 15-litre oil may has been marketed for Rs2,600.
Authorities said the imitation unit utilized labels and trademarks of real products to mislead consumers.
“The accused was used to provide hefty commission on the stores to market the adulterated goods,” authorities said.
Authorities are carrying out further analyses.
