Advantages of Tamil Nadu in budget encouragement for drones

Chennai: The Union budget on Tuesday sets the stage for the Indian drone industry to take off.
It’s augur well for Tamil Nadu, who holds the first drive profit with a recent launch of the own drone manufacturing entity, unmanned air vehicle company.
The Minister of Finance, as part of his budget speech, said the government would promote the use of ‘Drone Drones’ for plant assessment, digitizing land records, insecticide spraying, and other purposes to support the agricultural sector.
Sitharaman also launched the ‘Drone Shakti’ initiative where Startups will be supported to work on varying applications based on the theme of Drone-Asa-Service (Draas).
“In choosing itís, in all states, the courses needed for skills will begin,” he said.
The budget also classifies the geospatial and drone system as a sunrise opportunity that provides employment opportunities for young people.
Last month, the Chairman of Tamil Minister Nadu M St Stalin launched Tamil Nadu Nadu Unmanned Vehicle Corporation (UAVC) at a cost of Rs 10 Crore with the aim of designing, producing, and exchanging all types of drones and ally systems.
UAVC is set at the Aerospace Research Center (CAR) within the campus of the Anna University Madras Technology Institute.
The Directorate of Technical Education (Dote) will provide expert advice for government departments who want to use drones, which include multi-mission air drones, unmanned air systems, and air supervision for search and rescue operations, among others.
“The use of drones can increase agricultural GDP by 1-1.
5%,” said the CEO of the founder of Aerospace Garuda Agnishwar Jayaprakash, said.
Garuda Aerospace has tried to meet drone demand for use in the domestic agricultural sector and for the global market as well.
“Selling agricultural drones to each part of India means that Garuda must arrange assembly facilities and provide support services in the deepest pocket of Indian countryside, which will create a lot of skilled work,” he added.
The drone industry anticipates that the ‘Drone Shakti’ program will strengthen this sector further making it at least a $ 5 billion market in India.
