New Delhi: Senior Supporting Deepinder Singh Patwalia has been appointed as New Advocate General (AG) Punjab.
The Punjab government made an announcement in official notification published on Friday.
On November 9, Punjab CM Chararjit Singh Channi had received the resignation of the former Advocate General Aps Deol, after producing a pressure installed by the Head of the Navjot State Congress Singh Sidhu to replace the AG country.
Sidhu has encouraged his appointment as a Top Country Law officer, and Deol’s replacement that has represented the former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in cases related to the incident of the Post-Sakrilege police shooting in 2015.
There was anxiety between the two Channi and Sidhu for the appointment not only advocate general but DGP too.
Sidhu has asked Punjab CM Channi to choose between the ‘compromise’ officer or PCC head (himself).
After going down when the Head of the Punjab Congress in September, Sidhu had placed a prerequisite to continue charging a day of a new advocate to be appointed.
