AFC decided to reschedule the 2022 Asian Cup AFC qualification in India

KUALA LUMPUR: The Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to reschedule the 2022 Women’s Cup qualifying tournament scheduled in India because of an unprecedented health emergency caused by a Pandemic Covid-19.
The right tournament should be held in India from January 20 to February 6, 2022, while the qualifying event is currently scheduled for September 13 to 25 this year.
“In preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, the AFC Executive Committee also decided to provide greater flexibility in completing the date for qualifications …” AFC said in the release.
The Management Agency said he had considered “challenges that might arise from the availability of hosts, team travel arrangements, quarantine and medical steps imposed by several countries.” The AFC Executive Committee also approved the recommendation of a female soccer committee to cancel the Asian Cup of U-17 for Indonesia and the Asian Cup U-20 Uzbekistan.
The AFC Executive Committee recognizes the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of all stakeholders in particular, continental young players against the background of an ongoing uncertainty and challenges caused by the current pandemic.
It was also decided that the same host would hold the next edition of the two competitions in 2024.
Therefore, AFC will now work with the relevant host member associations to complete the date of competition to complete the qualification.
The committee also approved the recommendation of the AFC Futsal Football Committee and the AFC Coast to cancel the Futsal Women’s Futsal Championship 2020 and the Futsal Asian Cup 2021.
Meanwhile, Kuwafier Kuwait 2022 AFC futsal, which was originally scheduled for 13 to 24 October 2021 has also been rescheduled to the window for 1 Until April 15, 2022, with the last competition moved from 16 to 27 to September 25 to October 20.
In addition, the committee also recorded a preference for host member associations to get valuable international exposure, technical preparation and hosting experience by participating in qualifying competitions despite accepting automatic places in the final.
Given this, and to maintain the justice of the qualifying competition, the AFC Executive Committee agrees to allow host member associations to participate in qualifications, which will be considered a friendly match and have no bearings when calculating the best-positioned groups and teams among all groups in qualifications each.
