KABUL: The Taliban has banned Afghan news media circulating a message Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the Panjshir National Front Resistance (NRF) who called for the “national rebellion” against the Taliban, Sputnik reported on Monday.
“The Taliban has banned the Afghan news media circulating at the resistance to the movement issued by Ahmad Massoud, one of the leaders of the Front Resistance National (NFR),” Russian news agency reported quoting Al Arabiya news.
Furthermore, reported that the Taliban also prevented the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the former chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah from a meeting with fellow citizens.
This happened after Ahmad Massoud on Monday called for a “national rebellion” against the Taliban.
In the audio message sent to the media, the commander of the National Resistance of Ahmad Massoud said, “Wherever you are, inside or outside, I call you to start the national rebellion for our country’s dignity, freedom and prosperity,” Aljazeera reported.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports about PanjSHR, the last Afghan province falls under the control of the Taliban because the NRF has rejected the claim.
On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul, which led to the collapse of the US-supported civilian government.
Geography has witnessed heavy conflict between the team who fought in the past four days and both parties claimed to have caused severe victims.
Panjshir has been a fortress of the National Front Resistance, led by Ahmad Massoud and former Vice President Amrullah Saleh, who declared his president of the guard.
On Sunday, Massoud said that he was ready to stop fighting and start negotiations if the Taliban left the province.
Resistance spokesman Panjshir Fahim Dashti reportedly died in clashes with the Taliban on Sunday.
He was also Abdullah Abdullah’s nephew, a senior former government official involved in negotiations with the Taliban about Afghan’s future.
