Afghan defense minister said the ‘rampage war’ with the Taliban

KABUL: Afghan defense minister, Bismillah Mohammadi said on Wednesday that the “rampage war” with the Taliban, after the rebels carried out their first major attacks in the provincial capital.
“We realize that the war went berserk and we were in a very sensitive military situation,” said Mohammadi, hours after the Taliban launched their attack in the city of Qala-I-Naw, the capital of Badghis Province.
“I want to convince you all that our national troops, with the support of the power of local resistance, will use all their strengths and resources to maintain our homeland and our people,” he said in a statement released to reporters.
