Washington: A Afghan girl born on a US military plane because her family fled the Taliban rule named Reach after the name of the aircraft code, said US military officials on Wednesday.
The baby’s mother went to workers on Saturday while being flown to US military bases in Germany.
As soon as the plane landed, the military medical officer helped the woman free her baby over the plane’s cargo.
The mother and child were then taken to the nearest hospital.
Every US Air Force aircraft has the name of the code to communicate with other aircraft and the control tower, and the code for the C-17 cargo aircraft usually “reaches” followed by numbers.
The code name for the aircraft carrying a family of Afghanistan for safety reaches 828 – and that’s the old man decides to mention the child, said General Tod Wolters, the head of the US European Command.
The reach and parents headed to the United States along with other Afghan refugees, Wolters said.
Of the 7,000 people were evacuated from Kabul who had passed US bases in Europe since August 20, only 100 medical treatments needed.
Of the 100 people, 25 had been treated at a local hospital and 12 had run out.
Two other babies were born after their mother landed at the Ramstein base, Wolters said.
