Kanpur: The takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has left Afghanistan students of Fazalullah Salem in suffering when his family is trapped in a torn country.
Fazalullah, an Afghan youth in India on a student visa, is currently pursuing MSc agronomy in Chandra Shekhar Azad Agricultural University and Technology (CSA University) in Kanpur.
He keeps his fingers cross and pray to God for the welfare of his family.
Residents of Midan Wardak Province in Afghanistan, about 30 km from the Capital City of Kabul, Fazalullah is a bright student and comes to India under the Indo-Afghanistan fellowship program in 2019.
Since then, he lives in an international hostel at the University CSA and pursues MSc.
But life really changed for him in the past week.
The disturbed fazalullah said, “Life has changed for me.
When I came here in 2019, my country had Ashraf Ghani as president.
Life was normal for us.
But now the country has fallen into the Taliban.
My family still lives in Maidan Province Wardak in Afghanistan.
Because of the fear of the Taliban, my family hasn’t come out of the house for the past two days.
I was worried for them.
My mind was not peaceful.
“When talking to Tii by telephone, Fazalullah said,” Through whatsapp call that I was connected with my family.
I am related to my brother who is a teacher there.
They are fine until now.
But the situation is very tense, and I hope it makes it easy to quickly.
“He also said that he had submitted a visa extension and the Indian government agreed to three Next month.
“I am here in India for several months now.
Let’s see what happens in the future,” Fazalullah said.
He praised CSA University because he gave him a conducive environment for research.
At present, there are three Afghan students registered with CSA University.
While Fazalullah is still on campus, two other students from Afghanistan have left the university for their homes during locking.
They haven’t returned to campus since then.
Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Dr.
Singh said, “We have three Afghan citizens listed on campus.
However, only Fazalullah is present, and two other students have gone to Afghanistan during locking.
They have not yet appeared but we relate to them .
Because the situation is tense in their country, we are not sure how and when they will be back.
Both boys are fine and so are their families.
“Dean also said that because of the locking, the MSc session and other courses had been delayed.
If the session has begun in time, these two Afghan students – Shams Rahman pursues Agriculture BSC and and Humdard to pursue MSC vegetable science – will complete their title now.
