Afghan students joined the new Lucknow University course

Lucknow: Eight Afghan students, who recently completed their postgraduate courses at Lucknow University, will continue to pursue their higher education at universities than return to their country because they are afraid that the Taliban government will not give them the freedom to pursue their careers.
Also, because parents from most Afghan students have been linked to the previous government, they are afraid of retaliation from the current regime.
To avoid conflict with a hard-line conservative regime, students are registered in a doctorate course as soon as they complete that they come to India.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has approved their fellowship.
“Eight students listed at the PG level will now pursue a doctoral study that they will get a scholarship for the next five years, the cost of the hostel and the cost of the courses from the Board,” said Director of International Collaboration, International Student Advisor Rp.
Rp.
Singh.
Also, students plan to call their family members here until the situation improved back home.
“I praised Kabul and visited my house four months ago when our country was peaceful.
I finish my (economy) from Lu but can’t return for security reasons now.
I am happy that I have received a scholarship to pursue a doctoral study from Lu,” said Friends PhD (Economy) Shekib Lodin.
He said all affirty students had to change their career plans because of the chaotic situation in their country.
“I want to be a lecturer and want to teach at every university in India and if the situation is calm in my place, I can work there too.
But for now, I will focus on my research work and I plan to call my family here so International flights from Afghanistan are revived and visa issues are resolved, “he added.
Other students, Ahmad Iqbal Ghafoorori, who did MSC (renewable energy) from Lu and now at PhD also shared similar thoughts.
“I want to make my career in renewable energy and now I might arrange my own business related to the field but not sure where and when,” said Ahmad Iqbal Ghafoorori.
He said he had not visited his house for more than a year and now I will be here pursuing research for the next few years.
“I want my family to go down and live with me here until our country is peaceful,” he said.
