Kabul: Sohail Pardis, Afghan interpreters who work for the US Army are beheaded by the Taliban.
Pardis is one of the thousands of Afghan translators who work for the US military and now face the persecution by the Taliban, because the group gained control of the parts of the country, CNN reported.
He was driving from his home in the capital of Afghanistan Kabul to Khost Province around May 12 for Eid al-Fitr when his vehicle was blocked at the examination post by the Taliban.
The villagers who witnessed the incident told the red crescent that the Taliban shot his car before turning and stopping.
They then dragged Pardis out of the vehicle and strupt it.
Just a few days earlier, Pardis had told his friend that he received the threat of death from Taliban, who had found that he had worked as a translator for the United States Army for 16 months during the 20-year conflict.
“They tell him that you are a spy for Americans, you are the eyes of Americans and you infidel, and we will kill you and your family,” said a friend and his colleague Ayoubi to CNN.
In a statement issued in June, the Taliban said it would not endanger those who worked with foreign troops.
A Taliban spokesman told CNN that they tried to verify the details of the incident but said some incidents were not what they were portraiting.
But those who spoke to CNN said their lives are now under threat when the Taliban launched a revenge attack after US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
At the top of the war, there were around 100,000 US troops in the country, as part of NATO’s strength, CNN reported.
“We can’t breathe here.
Taliban have no mercy on us,” said Ayoubi.
About 18,000 Afghans who work for the US military have submitted a special immigrant visa program that allows them to go to the United States.
On July 14, the White House said it was launching, “Operation Alles Refuge,” efforts to move thousands of Afghan translators and translators who work for the US and those who live are now at risk.
The evacuation will begin in the last week of July for special immigrant visa applicants (SIV) who already existed in the pipe, White Press Secretary Jen PSAKI said in the briefing.
Previously, the Biden government said it was in talks with a number of countries to act as a safe havens to the US to complete a long visa process, a clear sign of the government was very aware of the towering threats caused by CNN.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on Wednesday that the Defense Department was “considering the choice” where the citizens of Afghanistan and their families have the potential to leave.
“We are still examining the possibility for overseas locations to include several installations of departments that are able to support the relocation efforts planned with the appropriate temporary residence and supporting infrastructure,” said Kirby.
Meanwhile, the Biden government on Monday said it would evacuate 2,500 Afghan visa seekers along with their families working for America during the war against the Taliban and would accommodate them at the military base in Virginia cleaned.
