KABUL: Faizullah Jalal, Afghan University lecturer known as critics bluntly against the Taliban, has been arrested from his house and taken to an unknown place, family members have confirmed.
Jalal, also a political commentator, will participate regularly at the TV talk and round table, Report Khaama Press.
After his arrest on Saturday, his children had appealed to humanitarian agencies on Twitter to help free their father.
Although the Taliban government has not commented on the development, sources told local media that lecturers were arrested by the Taliban.
Only the day before he was arrested, Jalal had tweeted about tensions that were taking place along the line of Durand, the de facto border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Khaama Press reported.
“The Durand line is always signed by the Head of State of Pashtoon and this is the official border between Afghanistan and Pakistan,” he said.
