Afghanistan: 40 was held in connection with the Nangarhar explosion

Kabul: At least 40 people have been arrested in connection with the explosion that rocked the city of Jalalabad in East Nangarhar Province on Saturdays and Sundays.
“The Islamic Emirate of the head of the Afghan intelligence directorate in Nangarhar said on Monday that 40 people had been arrested in connection with the explosion that rocked the city of Jalalabad on Saturday and Sunday,” reported Ariana News.
On Sunday, a child was killed and two people including members of the Taliban were injured in the explosion in the province of Nangarhar.
Meanwhile, on Saturday three people were killed and 21 were injured in three consecutive explosions targeting the Taliban in the Police District 5 Jalalabad City of East Nangarhar Province.
The head of intelligence, Dr.
Bashir, said intelligence officials were targeted, reported Ariana’s news.
Bashir did not provide more details about who was behind the explosion but the Islamic State (ISIS-K / Dash) claimed responsibility for the explosion on Sunday, Ariana’s news reported further.
The explosion came after the Taliban convinced the Afghans of the security and safety of their lives and their assets.
It was more than a month when the Taliban arrested Kabul after aggressive and rapid progress against Afghan government forces amid the withdrawal of US and NATO troops from the country.
The country fell into the crisis last month after Kabul fell to the Taliban and the government of former President Ashraf Ghani was elected democratically collapsed.
