KABUL: Rejecting the comments of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan about terrorism in his country, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday said that the landlocked country has faced the threat of Isis from Pakistan.
In the organization for the Islamic Cooperation Summit (OIC) on Sunday, Imran Khan said ISIS threatened Pakistan from Afghanistan, adding that stability in Afghanistan was needed.
“We have attacked from the Afghan border, from ISIL (ISIS), to Pakistan,” he said.
Reacting to Khan’s comments, the former Afghan president said this accusation was not true, ToloNews reported.
ISIS since the beginning has threatened Afghanistan from Pakistan, not the other way around, Karzai added.
“This statement is not true, and clearly propaganda against Afghanistan,” Karzai said in a statement.
“In fact, from the beginning, Afghanistan faced the threat of Isis from Pakistan.” Previously, Karzai had warned Pakistan not to interfere in the internal business of Kabul.
He has said that Islamabad should not encourage terrorism or extremism somewhat must establish relationships with the state through “civil principles and international relations principles.” “My message to Pakistan, our brotherhood, is that they should not try to represent Afghanistan,” he said in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) in October.
Pakistan organizes the peak of foreign ministers from OKI on Sunday.
OIC resolution was released after the meeting said the Islamic Development Bank would undergo an effort to free up aid in the first quarter of 2022, reported Al Jazeera.
The OIC meeting did not provide the new Taliban government every international recognition and Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi was issued from official photos taken during the event.
