KABUL: Afghanistan on Sunday said he was remembering his ambassador to Islamabad and other senior diplomats of “security threats” after the top missionary daughter was briefly kidnapped in the capital of Pakistan this week.
While some details have been released about the incident, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said Silsila Alikhil was kidnapped for several hours on Friday by unknown individuals and “very tortured”.
“Following the abduction of the Afghan Ambassador in Pakistan, the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has given the Afghan envoy and other senior diplomats from Islamabad back to Kabul until all security threats were eliminated,” said the foreign ministry in A statement on Sunday, demanding the arrest and prosecution of the kidnappers.
Alikhil was on his way home in the capital of Pakistan when he was kidnapped, the ministry said Saturday, added that he was under medical care at the hospital after being released.
Then, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that he had been attacked in his car, adding to the security of ambassadors and his family had been tightened.
Islamabad is a leafy and spacious city with relatively strict security and a population of around one million people.
“The kidnapping of the Afgh Duta and Torture Princess will then hurt the souls of our nation.
Our national psychic has been tortured,” said Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh on Twitter.
The Afghan delegation will visit Pakistan to assess the situation after that “More steps will be taken,” added the Afghan Foreign Ministry.
