New Delhi: The situation in Afghanistan has emerged as a challenge for India, who along with the alignment and rearrangement of global strength has led the country to rethink its strategy while also placing its weight behind ‘Quad’, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sundays.
Speaking in the context of Pakistan when delivering the address at the self-service staff of defense services in Wellington, Tamil Nadu, Singh said India had shown its determination that it would not only end terrorism on the land itself but also would not hesitate to hit the enemy of the region if needed.
Turning to sustainable military confrontation with China in East Ladakh, he said unilateral efforts were made last year to change the status quo on the northern border, which also caused Clash of Galwan Valley.
“Here too, we have faced our enemies with new dynamics.
Our soldiers display the courage and hold back, when needed, to thwart the enemy plan,” he said.
The minister said the country’s enemy no longer needs to enter our borders.
“They can also target our security apparatus from outside the border.
Alignment and regenerating global strength has added to the changing security challenges.” “The equation that changes in Afghanistan is a new and important example of this.
This situation forces every country to rethink its strategy At present.
Quad, a group of Indians, US, Australia and Japan have proven these things in mind, “he added.
Singh said “some evil forces” had used various methods to try and create an atmosphere of instability in India since independence, but the armed forces have ensured the unity and integrity of the country maintained.
“When our neighboring country (Pakistan) realized that it could not fight the frontal war with us, he used a proxy war and made the terrorism of the integral part of the state policy.
This is a shift in the main paradigm in the challenges facing our country,” he said.
Referring to the “surgical” cross border and Balakot air strikes in Terror camps, Singh said they changed the reactionary mindset to be proactive.
“Apart from the challenge on the Indian border, people are now convinced that there will be no compromise about national security,” he said.
“There is strong belief that India will not only end the terror on its own land, but if necessary it will not hesitate to end terrorism elsewhere.
This change defines a new era of national security in India,” he added.
