Afghanistan situation: Forced spasms power will not be recognized, Jaishankar said at SCO met

New Delhi: Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar has emphasized settling conflict through political dialogue and respecting the interests of all ethnic groups for peace in Afghanistan.
He spoke at the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation) Minister of Foreign Affairs in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The meeting was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister, China, Pakistan and other SCO member countries.
The world, region, and Afghans all want the same state – an independent, neutral, peaceful, democratic and prosperous person, Jaishankar said.
But he reminded that there was a power at work with a very different agenda.
The world opposes the seizure of power with violence and strength and will not legitimize such actions, he said.
It was a quiet reference to the Taliban, which has controlled the large Padang Afghanistan region of government forces after US withdrawal.
Jaishankar reminded that Afghanistan’s new generation has different expectations, and their future cannot be rooted in the past.
He also talked about “acceptable compromise” which reflected the Doha process, Moscow format and the Istanbul process.
Several rounds of talks about the Afghan peace process, involving the Taliban, Afghan government officials and world leaders have been held in Doha, Moscow and Istanbul.
But there is no concrete decision that can arrive.
Further talks are scheduled later this month in Doha.
