Kandahar: The curfew has been enforced in the city of Kandahar Afghanistan to curb violence which increased due to clashes between Afghan forces and Taliban fighters.
Movement restrictions will be placed from 9pm to 5 in the morning, Sputnik reported.
The Kandahar Military Security Council recommends that residents who live in other parts of Afghanistan should not return to the city until further notice.
Kandahar in the past few days witnessed a massive surge in the violence infused by the Taliban after the rebels launched several attacks to get Kandahar Province.
The Afghan National Army Command was deployed to fight the rise of the Taliban in each disturbing zone.
The surge in violence came amid the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan.
When the Taliban continued to reach new areas, US officials had been involved in talks with neighboring countries Afghanistan to support Afghan defense forces.
Other South Asian countries and Central Asia are also involved in talking to advance peace negotiations.
The curfew came for hours after the Karzai sedi, a commander of the Kandahar Special Forces, was killed in a clash with the Taliban for the control of Spin Boldak City on the border with Pakistan.
During violence, Indian photo journalist Denmark Siddique was also killed.
