Frankfurt: Afghanistan who arrived in Germany on Wednesday described a chaotic and frightening scene at Kabul airport before they were evacuated for safety and said they were afraid of the lives of the loved ones abandoned.
Speaking shortly after landing in Frankfurt with flights from Tashkent, men, women and children said they were part of a lucky little evacuated by NATO forces after the country fell to the Taliban at an amazing speed.
“We had to impose our trip and my little son fell and we were afraid but we succeeded,” said a woman, speaking in German.
“Then a American man showed good intentions and realized that we were really exhausted.
He took a passport and said I needed to check whether this was authentic.
Then he said ‘All good, you might enter’.

It’s scary.” , Son and husband, the first of several flights organized by Germany to save the risky Afghans from the Taliban militants because they have worked for NATO forces or Western-funded charitable organizations.
A veiled woman wiped tears, the others spoke on her cellphone and the man sobbed when they embraced family members and German friends who came to greet them.
None of the few who spoke to reporters said their names or what they had done in Afghanistan, where many fears took revenge against family members they might never see again.
“Everyone wants to come out,” said the woman’s husband, also spoke in German and brought their son.
“Every day worse than the day before.
We saved themselves, but we couldn’t save our family.” Chancellor Angela Merkel told her Christian Democratic meeting on Monday that Germany might need to give asylum to around 10,000 Afghans who worked with German soldiers and development agencies and activists and human rights lawyers.
The opposition parties in Germany have criticized the government for failing to predict the fall of Kabul to the Taliban and for what they said was a failed military adventure since 2001 which cost Euro and 59 German soldiers.
Alternatives far to the right for the German (AFD) have urged the government to institutionalize the moratorium on asylum applications and keep Afghan civilians in neighboring countries such as Pakistan.
At Frankfurt airport, a young Afghan man wearing a red and white jacket talking about his excitement in Germany.
“The anxiety was great because my whole family was still there,” he said.
“It’s not easy to leave them and come here.
Some of me are still there.
I’m very emotional but instead I’m fine, thank God.” A little girl who stood with her parents said in German: “When the soldiers opened fire was not good because everyone was afraid and started shouting.”
