Afghanistan will once again become the Nexus of Global Terrorist Organizations: Messenger

New Delhi: For almost four months after the Taliban took over, Farid Mamundzay, the Indian Ambassador from the previous regime, had stated the fear that the return of Taliban had raised a clear possibility that Afghanistan would return to “Nexus of the Global Terrorist Organization”.
Mamundzay said the report showed Pakistani-based terrorist clothing had joined in helping the Taliban takeover.
With the ruling Taliban, he expressed concern that Pakistan could now use Afghan camps to train various controlled terrorist clothing to increase infiltration along the Indian border with Kashmir.
The Ambassador spoke at a two-day international conference on ‘radicalization: threats to global stability architecture’ organized by the council for strategic matters, the Indian Management Institute (Rohtak) in the national capital.
He urged that the international community must put pressure on the Taliban government while preventing famous human rights violations and to improve women’s status.
India has so far not have formal involvement with the government while the new Taliban.
Mamundzay also stressed that considering the positive role that India had played in rebuilding Afghanistan in the past two decades, it must be made part of the ‘Troika’ which was formed in Afghan-related issues and also suggested that India must be part of any international body deliberation which was formed to deal with the Afghan crisis problem.
The presence of India in the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member will also benefit Afghanistan.
In the revival of radicalization for the second time under the Taliban, the Ambassador said, “Not only promises the pain for ordinary Afghans but also threatens regional and international security.” “The current Taliban regime will make the world believe that group perceptions have changed and became more moderate than the Taliban regime in the 1990s.
However, the recent reports of independent human rights have emerged that the Taliban have committed atrocities in various area, “he added.
He proceeded to show that the fall of Kabul in August has inspired many extremists throughout the world of Muslims who tend to pose a threat to regional and global security.
“The economic and socio-political situation in Afghanistation also deteriorates day after day so as to increase the possibility that the radicalization will affect the entire region,” he added, Mamundzay reminded that the Taliban regime previously harbored Al-Qaeda which planned and carried out various terrorists attacks from Afghan land including attacks 9/11.
“With the withdrawal of American troops and allies and the rise of Taliban, Afghanistan might be the main real estate for terrorist groups preparing to pay for training land in a state of failure with the absence of responsible government,” Ambassador added.
“The Taliban has promised to ban the Afghan land be used as a launchpad by international terrorist clothing.
Retoric, which I hope, is only not targeted to get international legitimacy and recognition of great strength, but they are serious,” he said further.
On the way ahead, Mamundzay said that to prevent radicalization, Afghanistan requires inclusive government with a fair representation of all groups to avoid polarization.
He emphasized the need for “legal governance structures based on modernity, equity and good governance”.
He also searched for that the Taliban regime must recognize extremist groups as a threat to the stability of Afghanistan and develop a long-term plan.
