New Delhi: The day after the Taliban seized power in Kabul and President Ashraf Ghani fled from a torn country of war, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said Afghanistan had “violated the slavery chain in the country”.
Geroben Taliban swept kabul on Sunday after the Afghan government supported by US collapsed and President Ashraf Ghani left the country, bringing the end before the campaign of two decades where the US and its allies have tried to change the nation hit by war.
“When you adopt a person’s culture, you believe it is superior and you finally become a slave to it.
It’s harder to free your mind from mental slavery.
Afghanistan has violated the shackles of slavery,” Imran Khan said.
Pakistan was accused of facilitating the Taliban rebellion which ultimately resulted in the arrest of the state after being overthrown around 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani Security Committee meeting chaired by Imran Khan will be held on Monday to discuss situations that develop in neighboring Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a statement that Pakistan would present his attitude in the current situation after consultation at the National Security Committee meeting.
Imran Khan has asked QureShi to establish contact with neighboring Afghanistan next week.
The Taliban on Sunday seized the last big city outside Kabul held by the country’s central government, cutting the Afghan capital to the east.
The Taliban rebels began to move towards Kabul after the collapse of the two remaining cities in Mazar-e-Sharif and Jalalabad.
US President Joe Biden in April announced that all American forces would be withdrawn from Afghanistan on September 11 this year, so it brought to end the longest war in the country, which stretched up to two decades.
