AFI to issue a new UID to athletes

Written by news2in

Kanpur: The Indian Athletic Federation (AFI) has canceled all unique identification numbers (UID) for the old and will issue new to the athletes after new registration.
This will charge the RS 500 fee for registration and issuance of UID numbers.
In the annual general meeting here on Sunday, the Athletics Association of Uttar Pradesh (UPAA) also decided to follow the AFI guidelines and will charge the RS 150 fee for registration of each athlete.
RS 50 will be sent to the athlete district and the remaining RS 100 will be saved by Upaa, said Secretary General of Honor PK Srivastava.
Upaa will follow the AFI guidelines on the problems of age and the district and the state unit must ensure that over age athletes are not sent to compete in any event.
In one other decision, now all entries will be accepted online.
There will be no offline or spot registration for any meeting and no one can participate without registration.
In another decision, it was decided that because of the cost of AFI RS 1,000 to 1,200 per event from each athlete, Upaa will charge the RS 500 fee at the age of 18, 20, 23 and men and women and Rs 300 per event under 16 groups.
Under 10 and 12 free age groups, he added.
For district athletic associations, it is obligatory to organize district meetings for all age groups.
The District Association will send athletic entries in the state that meet the standards set by Upaa.
In addition, he also decided to regulate competition one day from certain events in each district.
The selected event is 400m, mixed relays and relays, long jump, triple jump, javelin throws, 20, 35 and 50 km walk.
Srivastava told that technical officials will wear uniforms according to their status during the district and country.
The two members of Rajan Bhatia and Nidhi Singh members will propose the design and color scheme for uniforms.
Rachna Govil has been declared as Deputy President of Associate Upaa, Srivastava said.
The meeting was chaired by President Upaa Kunwar Fateh Bahadur.
