After 17 years, Odisha people get rid of 8kg’s face tumors

Bengaluru: A 31-year-old man from Odisha, who lived with a face tumor weighing more than 8kg for 17 years, had received a new lease in Bengaluru.
Manbodh Bagh lived with a large mass drooping from the right side of his face.
The conditions are rarely called plexiform neurofibromas, a benign tumor of peripheral nerves that develop since childhood.
The tumor appeared from his head until his neck, influenced his daily life.
Manbodh underwent 16 surgical procedures for the past six months to get rid of tumors at the Aster Hospital CMI, Bengaluru.
The treatment, which began in December 2020, the cost of Rs 72.7 lakh and he was assisted by the Milaap Crowdfunding platform.

With CT scan data, the 3D skull model printed from his face was made to assess the extent of the tumors and design and reconstruction excision plans, said Dr.

The first surgery was conducted on December 2020 and lasted for 19 hours.

Raghavendra Pai K, Lead Consultant, Neuroanaesthesia said that the man suffered blood loss on the first day of operation and was transfused by almost 40 liters of liquid, blood and blood components.
“We have ordered 12 units of blood for this operation, which is very large with regular standards and we can get an additional eight units in a short span of time.
Because the tumor affected the opening of his mouth, it was a challenge to get a breathing tube to the trachea for the first operation.
